Off sick...no pay...Kids sick...no pay...Car breaks down...no pay...True? Yes!!
As class instructors and personal trainers if we don't work...we don't pay the bills!
Have you thought about your own exit strategy? What are you going to do when you can't bounce around the room? Have you got a bit plan in mind? Something that's going to help you build a business beyond yourself?
I've made sure I have these bases covered!!
Are you investing in your future? There are some great investment sites out there...
If you want safety- Virgin Stocks and Shares ISA is pretty good -this spreads your investment across the Ftse 500 and compounds the interest to reinvest. Plus you can get at your money at any time -I use this as my safety bucket...Minimum risk but not masses of return.
Virgin ISA
Have you looked at income protection or critical illness cover? I'd urge any instructor working full time at teaching classes or personal training to get this sorted quickly....If the worst happens and you break your leg for example -you still have money (your average wage usually) coming in.
I personally use network marketing as my assurance for the future. This will be my pension! There are a few good companies out there so pick the one that works best for you -ensure you understand marketing plan IE how much you'll earn by when if you follow a particular process. Working this way leverages your time and builds passive income -money made or bonused to you as a result of working the process.
When choosing which company is best for you -tip 1 is you MUST be passionate about the particular subject, product or result on offer. Otherwise it's a waste of opportunity "no point climbing a ladder to find out it's leaning against the wrong wall"!
I'd be happy to go through these systems if they're of interest please contact me through

So you think you can sing?
You must have watched, or
had exposure to programs like X-Factor and American Idol right? Time after time
we sit there mesmerised by these crazy individuals who think they have the best
voices on the planet...regardless of how much they suck!!! Can they hear what
we hear? No, I actually don’t think they can! I think they genuinely believe
they rock!
So where am I going with
this? (Although I could sit here and talk X-Factor/ Idol all day)...As
Instructors, can we “sing?”...Do we think we rock? Or can we not see what other
people see? When was the last time you went to another instructors class (that
you heard from members was great!) and they were riding high on knowing the
members love them etc...The result? They sucked!
Why do you think class
members think it’s great? Yet we disagree?...because we are the “Simon Cowell”
in this situation!

Talking of practising and preaching...
Here's my friend Sarah doing exactly that!

Practise what you preach!
This picture applies to fitness instructors too! Don't be one of those swollen instructors that are emerging into gyms and health clubs these days!
Like it or not we're in an industry where our bodies speak volumes about or capabilities.
It also tells people that what we're teaching in our classes either does or doesn't work!
If you're an instructor and need help with nutrition contact me by commenting below. I can help you get to grips with fuelling for fitness and help you pass it on to the people in your class.

Thought I'd go write ahead and post something useful!
How to Sync a mic belt-pack quickly!
Most large gym chains tend to use the same suppliers. The AKG system is pretty common.
When your head mic dies (which happens quite often) and the duty manager is flapping -usually just before he /she gets verbally mugged of confidence by the sweaty "cast" of Body Combat or whatever awesome group fitness you are teaching at the time!
Commit this to your grey matter, apply it and all will be sorted -hopefully before the pale faced duty manager gets a flying elbow from your members. Remember this is for syncing a back up -if the 2 signal bars in the receiver screen are down it's likely the belt pack if it's the right hand side only then just change the head set itself.
